The facts for Ohio

What Ohio law says about recovery services

Ohio caps finder fees at 10% of the amount recovered and voids any fee agreement signed within 2 years of the holder's report being filed with the state (finders also can't solicit owners during that window). Finders must be registered with the Ohio Division of Unclaimed Funds and must include their registration certificate number in every agreement, which must be a notarized written disclosure covering the fund's value, the owner's net take, and the fact the state will pay the owner directly. Statute text was fetched directly from the official codes.ohio.gov site.
